This one's in various shades of deep pink... dunno how to capture the colors properly argh... also cotton jersey...
T036 (SOLD too)

Multicolored green, brown etc... cotton jersey... T037, light brown/goldy awning... 1 TAKEN, 1 more still available

Purple, grey & black paisley.... jersey.... T038 - one scallop with printed awning (booked by Auntie Y), 1 regular with black awning SOLD...

Same design as above, but in various shades of blue... jersey... T039 - one scallop with printed awning (booked by my MIL), one regular with black awning still available...

Fabrics are limited (enough for 2 pieces from each fabric for now)... first come first served! Anything additional would depend on fabric availability at the store... let me know your selection of fabric and tudung style ye!

New Tudung Style - Scallop/Twist

One of my customers requested the 'Scallop' or 'Twist' tudung... since she's a colleague, and a regular customer, I obliged... she has the honor of being the first customer to get a scallop tudung from Ciklynn's :)

This one's taken, but made-to-orders in this design is possible... just let me know if you prefer this design ye! It does use a bit more fabric that the usual design, so the rate's just a teeny bit higher than the usual :)
I may make some ready stocks in this template as well... look out for the notations in the posts...

New Ready Stocks

Back to tudungs for now... been busy with several custom orders, so not many new ready stocks available. These 3 are newly-completed, and ready for the picking:-

T033

Bags bags bags...

Managed to get several more bags completed recently, using the same template (I wanted to memorize the steps)...

This one was given to my mom-in-law as her birthday present...

This one was made specially for my daughter, cos she wanted a pink bag. At first I thought this would be so nice as her 'mengaji' bag, but she didn't want to use it for that... she's now using the bag for her books and other stuff for 'balik kampung' and 'jalan-jalan'...

I also completed another bag (based on the same design, but with bigger dimensions) for a friend who wanted to use it as a document bag... that was also a present :) Am now somehow open for bag orders as well hehehe... Need to start cracking on the bag orders I've received from my colleagues...

BTW, new jersey fabrics are in, in various colors... have started making several more tudungs on a made-to-order basis... will post those and the other extras up as soon as they're completed ye... the most recent order includes a 'tudung scallop' as well (my 1st attempt at making that), so we'll see how things go...

Latest bag (new pattern)

This is my most recently-completed bag, made using a pattern in another newly-purchased book 'The New Handmade'. Ada sikit rasa stress masa nak siapkan, cos the turning out part was more difficult with this bag since it has fusible interfacing on it, but I kinda like how it turned out. It's a nice enough size for an adult to shoulder- or hand-carry, but also small enough for a child to shoulder-carry (as modeled by my 5 y.o. daughter below).

Because of the interfacing, it's quite stiff enough to stand on its own (without any contents to hold it up). It's big enough to hold a couple of books or magazines (but I'm not sure if it's big enough to be a document bag). The top band is actually green, to match the bag's color scheme, but the light doesn't quite show the color. My good friend wants to order a document bag from me, so if this fits her bill, I'll make another (slightly bigger perhaps) for her...

Once she's seen this, I think I'm gonna give this to my darling daughter for her 'bag mengaji'...

Verdict please? :)

New Items - handmade bags

I've been hankering to try making other handmade items besides tudungs... the first thing that came to mind was, of course, bags!!! I'm a bag-aholic, so sue me hehehe...

Since I never made one before, I pestered my mom to help me make one, a really basic tote without using any patterns... and this was the result:-

I love this bag! The fabric is so bright and cheerful, very suitable for the young and young-at-heart hehehe... of course, it was a very basic bag, so no pockets or buttons or whatever... but someone still wanted it! So it was SOLD to my boss, who wanted to give it to her daughter...

I then went on a book-binge, buying up many books and magazines related to sewing and bag-making, and one of my more recent purchases was the book 'Sew!' by Cath Kidston. The cool thing about the book was, it came complete with everything needed to make the bag on the book cover. As soon as I got the book home, I spent ages trying to decipher the instructions step-by-step.... and finally, TADAAA!!!

Because of this bag, I learned how to make buttonholes using the Singer sewing machine! My comment for this bag, though - the pattern did not indicate a lining, which kinda reduced the appeal of the bag. However, the expanded version of this bag (as a shopper tote) did call for a lining, so I guess the lining-free bag was for those who want a quick, simple bag only.
This one's not for sale though :) But I have had requests to make a similar bag, with a bigger body... will try that one soon then since the demand is there...

Never fear... tudung-making has not stopped... I'm just so excited about making other items as well now :)
